The precious cross Lux Tenebris is a creation of jewellers at the House of Lobortas combining the timeless austerity of form with the noble expressiveness of materials. The base of the cross is made of ebony, one of the densest and rarest woods on Earth. For centuries, ebony has held the secret of inner light, symbolising tranquillity and concentration. Its velvety surface absorbs glare, emphasising the contours and transforming the geometry of the cross into a strict, almost architectural silhouette. Broad planes are kept in perfect symmetry, while sharp edges create a play of penumbrae.

The golden image of the Crucifixion enters into a noble dialogue with the ebony. The sculptural rendering of the Saviour’s figure — anatomically precise yet softened by the plasticity of the lines — conveys spiritual overcoming. Light, reflecting off the matte surface of the gold, seems to dwell in the form of the cross, suffusing it with its warmth from within.
