First Element is a jewellery sculpture that captures the moment when meaning is born from primordial matter. Its surface resembles a fragment of rock torn from the bowels of the Earth: rough, uneven, marked by cracks and traces of chaos. And it is from this chaotic texture that the Tryzub sprouts — not placed on top, but breaking through from within. It seems as though the gold was hidden within the metal and gradually released from the depths. The polished glow contrasts with the rough bronze‑silver texture, creating the sense of form being born from original substance. In the composition, the Tryzub is inscribed within a cross — a sign of centre and balance. This is the intersection of two principles: inner force and outer form. Wherever the symbol appears, stability arises.
On the reverse side, another story unfolds — a map of Ukraine. It is not depicted as a conventional outline, but engraved in metal in clear relief, as if the earth itself had preserved its imprint. The borders resemble natural rock fractures, emphasising that this territory is not an abstraction but living matter. The map and the Tryzub are two sides of the same coin: land and spirit, foundation and symbol.
The sculpture is mounted on a jasper base. The natural structure of the stone resembles the movement of magma or riverbeds at the dawn of the world. Jasper acts as a foundation: the land holds the symbol, and the symbol holds the identity.
First Element asserts a simple truth: Ukraine is not just a spot on the map. Ukraine is a force that grows through any metal.
