Since ancient times, the horseshoe has been considered a symbol of protection and well‑being. Traditionally, it was hung above the front door, with the belief that the metal holds good fortune and its curved shape gathers benevolent forces like a bowl of light. In jewellery art, this ancient symbol has gained a new lease on life, becoming not just a talisman but an exquisite image encased in precious metal and gemstones. The jewellers at the House of Lobortas have embodied this tradition in their Horseshoe of Happiness earrings, transforming an ancient belief into a refined artistic form.
At the bottom of the composition lies a large morganite — a stone with a soft, morning glow whose natural properties allow it to refract light beautifully. It is enclosed in a golden horseshoe decorated with a scattering of diamonds, which enhance the depth of the morganite’s pink hue and create a wave‑like play of light. With every turn of the head, the horseshoe seems to flash, affirming its purpose of bringing good fortune.
The austere rays of the horseshoe‑shaped star are cut so precisely that even a small amount of light is reflected many times over. At the very centre of the star shines a diamond, surrounded by engraved patterns applied with meticulous craftsmanship.
In the upper part of the composition, a smaller morganite is set in a gold frame adorned with a halo of diamonds. Thanks to precise setting and mirror‑polished metal, the morganite becomes a point of light and balance, uniting the horseshoe of the earth, the star of the sky, and the soft glow of the mineral.
The precious Horseshoe of Happiness earrings stand as both a piece of jewellery and a talisman. Created with attention to every detail, they promise to keep good fortune close.
