Created by the jewellers at the House of Lobortas, the precious Garnet in Bloom ring is like a miniature sculpture of light, in which the form seems to blossom and unfold around the stone. Each of its carefully designed details stands as part of a complex objet d’art et d’architecture.
At the centre of the piece, a garnet burns, surrounded by mirror‑polished planes of gold. Reflecting light, these mirrored surfaces create a pattern of glare around the precious stone, and thanks to its special, almost open setting, light penetrates its depth and returns outward in ruby flashes. The polished planes give a sense of movement and spatial depth, enhancing the mineral’s brilliance, while the shape of the design itself creates the illusion of a floating stone — as if the garnet were suspended within the intertwining gold lines, ablaze with its own flame.
The architecture of the piece forms a complex spatial framework whose multi‑layered structure enhances the sense of volume, while resembling an open bud in which the garnet symbolises creative energy and reveals the mystery of living force.
The Garnet in Bloom ring is an example of how jewellery art can transcend the boundaries of the jewel and become a sculpture of movement — a story told by the fire of the stone and the sparkle of gold.
