The Holy Fire, which symbolizes the miraculous light of the Resurrection of Christ, came down on May 4 in the afternoon in the temple of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.

Late in the evening of 4 May the Holy Fire was brought by a special flight with special sanctuary lamps from Jerusalem to Moscow to Vnukovo International Airport by the Fund of St. Andrew the First Called delegation, which received the shrine in the temple of Holy Sepulture. In the morning of May 5 from the Vnukovo International Airport, due to individual permission of the aeronautical authorities of Russia and with the necessary security measures, specially designed Altar Sanctuary lamp with the Holy Fire, designed for orthodox parishes in Italy, was taken to flight of the airline "Transaero" to Airport "Marco Polo" Venice and then solemnly transported and handed to archimandrite Ambrose, the abbot of Milan Orthodox parish of St. Ambrose of Milan, where the Easter services were held for more than 1,500 believers.
The Sanctuary lamp is a unique masterpiece of contemporary jewelry art, it has a recognizable architecture of Milan Cathedral of St. Lawrence, and at the bottom is a personal monogram of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, who blessed its creation.
