55th Anniversary of the First Flight in Outer Space.
Transfer of the "Spiritual Height" Composition
in the Museum "Cosmic Samara"

12 April 2016

Every year Aviation and Cosmonautics Day with pride is celebrated throughout the world. Yuri Gagarin was the first human to journey into outer space, when his Vostok spacecraft completed an orbit of the Earth on 12 April 1961. On the day of the 55th anniversary of the first flight into outer space the "Spiritual Height" composition, created by the artisans of the Classic Jewelry House "Lobortas", was solemnly transferred to the "Cosmic Samara" museum.

In an era of space exploration and missile launch for manned orbital flights Samara became the world's space capital. It is here was built the rocket Vostok-1, which in 1961 delivered Yuri Gagarin, the first cosmonaut of the planet, into outer space.

In the course of the commemorative events, on behalf of the head of the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center the letter of congratulation was read. N. I. Merkushkin, the Governor of the Samara Oblast, presented the composition "Spiritual Height" – the miniature satellite, inside of which there are orthodox cross and a mini-copy of the torch of the Olympic fire, that had visited the orbit, as well as a copy of a "To start" key, which has launched the Soyuz TMA-11M spacecraft. Souvenir, designed to bring good luck and success, was turned in for storage in the "Cosmic Samara" museum.

In spite of its fairly young age, the "Cosmic Samara" museum had already earned great success with their guests. It is noteworthy that it was opened on April 12, 2001. On the facade of the building there is the main attraction of the museum – the rocket launcher "Soyuz".
