The XXI Century Cossack with Firearm Collection

As the most precious treasure, Ukrainians hand down from generation to generation the rich history and culture acquired by Ukrainian people in ancient times. These achievements also include the coat of arms of the Cossack with Musket, which has existed for more than four centuries and stands as the first monument of Cossack heraldry.

This coat of arms was first found on the seal of 1592, depicting a soldier with a musket — a symbol of the Zaporizhian Host, celebrated in Ukrainian poetry of the 17th century. By the 18th century, it was the principal coat of arms of the Hetmanate, Sich, and Zaporizhian Host. In 1918, it was the coat of arms of the Ukrainian State of Hetman Pavlo Skoropadskyi. According to the Constitution of Ukraine of 1996, it stands as a component of Ukraine's great coat of arms.

Due to the aggression in 2022, a significant role in repelling the enemy invasion is played by the latest systems that have replaced the muskets. Thus, bridging eras, the artists have imbued the classic figure of the Cossack with the sleek “muskets” of the 21st century, seamlessly fusing heritage with modernity.
