«The Cornucopia»

Ivory Agate Topaz Sculpture

Materials:

mammoth ivory, agate, topaz.

 Look, a living cloud,

The radiant fountain throw

Its flaming spray, scattering

Moist mist towards the sun,

Tossing rays up to the sky,

Touching forbidden heights

And once again, a fire-colored dust,

Is sentenced to fall back to earth.

From "The Fountain" by Fyodor Tyutchev

Interior Object "Cornucopia". An experienced traveler shall certainly recognize several great creations in the work of art by the artisans of the Lobortas Classic Jewellery House. Having taken the most precious and rare material (mammoth ivory) jewelers have created a kind of cornucopia, a large horn-shaped container overflowing with mythological images and heroes.

In stoke snatch a rampant horse with hooves and lobed fins on his sides jumps out of the water to escape into the unknown. Mammoth ivory is thankful material, it is surprisingly flexible, and artisans managed to show power, despair and force of a sea horse. The sea horses of the Neptune fountain that adorns the parterre of the Upper Garden in Peterhof served as a prototype of the small sculpture.

And here is the figure on a horse is noted for his serenity and severity. The one, who visited the royal residence of Versailles or walked on the outskirts of Fontainebleau Palace, has learned this look for sure. In the 21st century, goldsmiths of the Lobortas House repeated and developed the artistic reception of the 16th century's sculptors in the small plastic art. They reproduced the expression of the mythical hero's eyes in a special way.

Desk sculpture "Cornucopia" is an abundance of images, signs and symbols.
